Let start with the story of tea. The most popular story believed that tea has been discovered in 5,000 years ago by Chinese Emperor Shen Nong. He is founder of the practices of Chinese agriculture. Also he has tasted hundreds of herbs to find out their medical value and write the book “The Divine Farmer’s Herb-Root Classic” which describes 365 medicines.
Tea is one of the herbs he tasted. Legend that he was poisoned in Yunnan Province because of the herb he tasted. When he almost lost his mind, he smelled some pleasant scent which waked him up and lead him to a boiling spring. He drunk the green liquid and recuperated his health in few days. Then he found out it was that the green plant brewed on the boiling water made this special treatment.
Since then, tea becomes to the most popular drink in China and Yunnan was the cradle. There are so many kinds of class right now, however, all the tea is come from “Da Ye” breed (Big leaf) which was found in southern Yunnan in 1700 years ago and then spread to the east of China and also evolved to “Zhong Ye” breed (middle leaf) and “Xiao Ye” breed (small leaf).
Because of the difference between the leaf and growing environment, the taste of tea are different. Normally, the big leaves are more aroma than small leaves. Also the tea polyphenol (TP)of big leaves is more as well. Pu erh tea and yunna black tea is made from Yunnan wild big leaves breed. So they have more benefit for your healthy.
